The Viacom-owned cabler has greenlit a pilot for an untitled late night talk show, hosted by “Bar Rescue‘s” Jon Taffer, Variety has learned exclusively.

While details on the talk show are scarce, Taffer will serve as an exec producer on the potential series, in addition to appearing on camera. He is under a first-look deal with Spike. 3 Ball Entertainment, which is behind “Bar Rescue,” will produce the late night series.

Taffer, a renowned bar and nightlife expert, is currently host of Spike’s popular “Bar Rescue,” which kicks off its fifth season on August 7 at 9 p.m. Variety has learned that Season 5 of “Bar Rescue” will consist of a whopping 30 episodes.

In addition to the tall episode order, Spike has also ordered 10 additional “Back to the Bar” specials, which will air throughout “Bar Rescue’s” fifth season run on Sunday nights. The specials will continue to revisit bars that were featured on previous episodes of “Bar Rescue.” The flagship series follows Taffer across the country as he helps failing establishments transform into profitable businesses, and the new season will travel to Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Seattle and more U.S. cities.

Earlier this year, Spike ordered another talk show, “Adam Carolla and Friends Builds Stuff Live,” a live carpentry comedy series that hails from the team behind “The Talking Dead.” That show is set to debut in 2017.
