It’s one thing to get dissed by the Koch Brothers’ Columbus gig for the likes of Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and the like.
But for Jon Taffer, host of Spike TV’s Bar Rescue?
Americans for Prosperity just announced that the author and restaurateur will speak at the Defending the American Dream Summit set for the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Aug. 21 and 22.
“We are excited to welcome Jon Taffer, whose track record as an entrepreneur proves that economic freedom still drives prosperity in America. We look forward to hearing his insights into how we can work to preserve and advance it, “said the group’s CEO, Luke Hilgemann, in a press release.
The organization bankrolled by the GOP megadonor Kochs has been rolling out releases about individual speakers for the past several weeks, which also include U.S. Sen. Rob Portman and Congressman Jim Jordan, both of Ohio — but not Kasich.
A few Kasich backers are starting to liken the apparent snub as a Sister Souljah moment, echoing the Bill Clinton 1992 rebuke of an erstwhile supporter for her remarks on race.
